Donnovan Simon

Donnovan understands community organizations. Since moving to Calgary from Jamaica in 2001, he has been involved in numerous community organizations.  This includes :

  • President of the Jamaican Canadian Association Alberta (JCAA) – 2008 – 2010 and 2015 - 2021.
  • Founder - Caribbean Presidents Forum
  • Board member - Caribbean Community Council
  • Planning committee - Reggaefest
  • Executive - Calgary and District Cricket League
  • Chair - CPS  Caribbean - Diversity Advisory Board


He received the AC Awards - Community Leader of the Year in 2019. In 2021 he received the inaugural Edith Baxter Memorial Award for his contribution to promoting Jamaica in the Diaspora. 

Donnovan understands business.  He has held senior management roles in multiple technology companies in the last 20 years, including:

  • SMART Technologies
  • Zephyr Sleep Technologies
  • Nureva Inc
  • Blackline Safety


He is founder of HLI Source and Strategic Acceleration Services. He is the author of several  business books:
